For those of you who love to use Adobe Software, Google has announced a partnership with Adobe to bring its Creative Cloud services to the Chrome OS platform.

As we move onto total shutdown with COVID-19, here's a few tips on what to do, and not to do, with your internet connection during the COVID-19 lockdown.

First and most important,"don't tutu with it!" - especially if you are on our rural wireless network. (If you're not a native Northlander this translates to "if it ain't broke don't fix it"). So please don't move or change anything about your connection. This is especially important during the next four weeks (minimum) of lockdown because quite often, faults are caused by customers doing just that - deciding to move or change something about one of the components of their connection. And as we move into total lockdown, we aren't able to come out and fix anything you inadvertently break. Our installers and repair people all have vulnerable people within their households and their safety has to come first, so as from yesterday all visits to customer premises are off the table until the alert level drops.

"Don't tutu" covers everything from changing plugs (it's easy to confuse which is which and if you connect our gear to the wrong plug you can take out the antenna on your roof), moving gear around the house, or moving the antenna on your roof (an absolute no-no, you can almost certainly ensure you will go for the entire lockdown period with no broadband if you do).

Likewise if you have a (supposedly) IT-savvy friend who wants to do something to your connection, tell them no. Just no. Many times customers have disasters caused by well-meaning people who have no idea what they are doing or don't understand how our systems work.

If you're on our fibre network, please remember that we've likely configured your wifi router so that it works optimally with our system. Do not, DO NOT press the 'reset' button on your wifi router, or let anyone else do it. Our office is closed so you won't be able to bring it in for us to set it back up for you and we may not be able to do it remotely.

So the simple message is, leave everything alone. If you are concerned about your connection for some reason or you are having trouble, then call us on 09 4385472 or 0508 BROADBAND. You can also contact us by email ([email protected]), Facebook Messenger or the contact form on our website. In these crazy times, don't try and do anything yourself - you might well make things worse.

Hi Eric the easiest way to upgrade your plan would be to contact us on the contact page. uber.nz/contact/. Then we can make sure we have the correct person 😊

We're on wireless (rural) broadband. Is there any chance of allowing us to change plan mid-month rather than pay the silly money for extra GB?

I also have the same question as Andy - with family just arriving home from uni and having online courses, we would love to be able to upgrade to unlimited but plan has just rolled over.

Tutu fingers are suitably restrained 😂 Fingers crossed our internet stays on - not sure how we’ll deal with the cabin fever without Netflix 😜 Keep safe and thanks for your awesome service 😁
